Winemaking

The harvest began in early September. The grapes, as soon as they were harvested, were immediately taken to the cellar. Here, once destemmed, spontaneous fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After this, the wine remained in the vats to complete its maceration. After racking, malolactic fermentation took place, also in stainless steel. At the end of the year, the wine was racked into barriques, where it aged for the next 24 months. The additional time in the bottle allowed Nipozzano 2016 to fully express itself, making it a wine with exceptional expressive balance.

Color

The wine has a ruby red color with purple reflections.

Perfume

The nose is floral, characterized by distinct hints of sweet violet that dominate over the fruity notes. This is followed by raspberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry, accompanied by aromas of licorice and spicy notes of nutmeg and white pepper.

Taste

The entry into the mouth is warm, with tannins clearly evident. The texture appears decisive, a typical characteristic of Chianti Rufina. It has a long finish.
