From the Tignanello estate, in the heart of the Chianti Classico between the Greve and Pesa valleys, comes one of the pearls of the Italian wine renaissance, Il Solaia. The estate, owned by the Marchesi Antinori since the mid-1800s, has always been dedicated to viticulture and its 2 products, Solaia and Tignanello, are among the best known and most appreciated wines in the world.

Perfume The nose is immediately important. It is a wine in which the aromas of the fruit are preserved in perfect harmony with the hints of vanilla and chocolate of the wood.
Taste When tasted, the Solaia presents a very powerful palate, supported by an evident tannic texture, but soft and very persistent after a certain permanence in the glass. The notes of ripe fruit, blackberry and cherry compose an intense aftertaste and a persistence that seem almost endless.

Vinificazione

Dopo la svinatura, effettuata a fermentazione alcolica terminata, i vini sono stati immessi in barriques nuove di rovere, con l'intento, riuscito, di far avvenire la fermentazione malolattica entro la fine dell'anno.

Affinamento

In seguito sono stati assemblati, hanno riposato per circa 12 mesi in barriques, sono stati travasati ed infine, dopo un attento assaggio barrique per barrique, il vino è stato imbottigliato. L'introduzione sul mercato è avvenuta dopo un ulteriore anno di affinamento.

Colore

Rosso rubino intenso.

Profumo

Al naso si presenta subito importante. E’ un vino nel quale i profumi del frutto vengono conservati in una perfetta armonia con i sentori di vaniglia e cioccolata del legno.

Gusto

Alla degustazione, il Solaia presenta un palato di grande potenza, supportato da una tessitura tannica evidente, ma morbido e molto persistenze dopo una certa permanenza nel bicchiere. Le note di frutta matura, di mora e di ciliegia compongono un retrogusto intenso e una persistenza che sembrano pressoché interminabili.
