"Il Poggio" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018 is a red wine of great elegance and structure, representing the excellence of the Tuscan tradition. This Gran Selezione stands out for its aromatic complexity and refined harmony on the palate, offering an intense and persistent tasting experience.

Organoleptic characteristics

  • Color:  deep ruby ​​red with garnet reflections
  • Aroma:  complex bouquet of ripe cherry, plum, sweet spices, leather, tobacco and light balsamic notes
  • Taste:  full and harmonious, with silky tannins, balanced acidity and a long, enveloping finish

Vinification and refinement

  • Manual harvest with careful selection of Sangiovese grapes
  • Fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature
  • Maceration for 20-25 days for optimal extraction of color and tannins
  • Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels
  • Further maturation in bottle for at least 12 months before being released for sale
